The Administration Department is responsible for administering the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPOP). The Act provides the public with a right of access to record(s) in the custody and control of the District and to protect personal privacy by prohibiting unauthorized collection, use or disclosure of personal information. The District's Freedom of Information Bylaw provides for the District's administration of FOIPOP, and it outlines associated fees to be paid under S.75 of the Act.
Routine Requests Requests for Council/Committee Agendas or Minutes, Bylaws, publications, policies and procedures, and information related to your property are most often available upon a verbal request. Please contact the Municipal Hall at (250) 652-4444 to request this information or refer to the various sections of our website.
Formal Requests Formal requests under the Act are processed by the Municipal Clerk. You may submit a Request to Access for Records form or submit a letter identifying the information you are seeking to:

Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) is independent from the District and it monitors and enforces FOIPOP and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
