In the event of snowfall, property owners and residents are advised that the Central Saanich Streets and Traffic Bylaw requires you to clear snow and ice within 24 hours of the accumulation of such snow or ice from the sidewalk bordering your properties. It does not snow and freeze very often in Central Saanich but, when it does, walking on the sidewalk can be pretty treacherous.

Many senior citizens have an especially difficult time getting around in winter conditions. Let’s all work together so pedestrian traffic can walk safely to homes and businesses. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
