How do I pay my utility (water/sewer) bill and taxes?

The municipality will accept cash, cheque and debit card. In addition, taxes and utilities can be paid by telephone/internet banking. (Contact your financial institution to sign up). Pre-authorized payment plans are also available for taxes and utilities. The municipality does not accept credit cards.

Do farms pay lower taxes?
Yes, BC Assessment assesses Farms lower than market value, resulting in lower taxes.

Do farms pay lower water rates?

Yes, properties classified as Farms by BC Assessment qualify for the Capital Regional District (CRD) Agricultural Water Rate. For agricultural water rate information please visit the CRD website or call 474-9600.


How do I apply for Farm Status?
Farm status classification is granted by BC Assessment.  For further information and how to apply visit the BC Assessment website.

How do I apply for the Capital Regional District Agricultural Water Rate?

If your property already has farm status, please pick up an application form at the Municipal Hall or download the application for Agriculture Water Rates and return it to the Central Saanich municipal hall utility billing department for processing.
