Information Technology


The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for the management of all activity related to the District’s integrated network of computers, GIS, and the municipal website. The primary goal of the IT Department is to deliver innovative and cost-effective technology solutions that enable the District to meet its business and corporate objectives.

Through the centralized management of IT, the IT Manager works with all Municipal Departments to plan, implement and optimize the use of technology for the benefit of the District.

The Information Technology Department at the District is responsible for:

Purchase, deployment and maintenance of the computerized assets of the District.
Network Infrastructure (Wide Area Network, Phone System, Servers, Printing Devices (Fax, Photocopiers, multi-function), Mobile Technology (Cell Phone, PDA, Blackberry), Firewall, and e-mail.
Desktop Environment (workstations, laptops, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Office)
Major Business Applications (Tempest, Vadim Financials, Autodesk, ESRI, SCADA)
The District's website.

The District has two physical locations at which Information Services are provided including the Municipal Hall and Public Works as well as supporting our District Firehall and Police Department, which are located at the Municipal Hall.

The department supports approximately 100 workstations and Microsoft Windows servers. Our hardware environment consists of HP, Dell, Cisco, and 3Com equipment. Our desktop environment is predominately the Microsoft Office suite.

The IT Manager reports to the Director of Financial Services.
