The BC Government offers the Home Owner Grant (HOG) program, which is designed to provide property tax relief to owner-occupiers. For details about HOG amounts, eligibility and other information, please see the Government of BC Home Owner Grant website.
The HOG application form is located at the bottom of the property tax notice. It is important to sign and complete the HOG application in full. Alternately, taxpayers may claim the Home Owner Grant online. The same deadlines apply to HOG applications as property taxes. Late and incomplete HOG applications will be charged a ten percent penalty.
