Central Saanich is brimming with farms; the farms provide us with an opportunity to buy local and reduce our household’s carbon footprint. We live in a great climate for growing our own food in our gardens, too!
What can you do?
Local food systems are so critical to local climate resilience. They reduce the distance our food travels to get to us, reduce food waste, and increase our appreciation for the communities and ecosystems that feed us.
This year, we celebrated #EarthDay with a Seed Giveaway and chance to speak with Ali Rivers, Climate Action Specialist for the District.
