Installation of new watermains in the Brentwood Bay is nearing completion:
- There are only minor sections of the watermain to complete on Stelly’s Cross Road. This should be done in mid-October.
- The watermain in northern Brentwood Bay is also scheduled to be complete in mid-October.
- A new watermain will be installed on West Saanich Road between Sluggett Avenue and Carriage Lane, starting in mid-October and ending in mid-November.
Several tie-in points between the old water system and new watermain will take place after the new watermains have been installed. The tie-ins are scheduled for the end of October to mid-November.
Temporary patching has been taking place as the watermain and tie-ins are complete. Paving is still required for West Saanich Road (north of Verdier Ave.), Stelly’s Cross Road, Enid Place and Tantalon. This paving will take place from late October to mid-November. Please note paving cannot take place during inclement weather and sometimes schedules are disrupted by rain events.
In 2018, after all work is complete and after minor setting of the new watermain trenches, the District will place a new and final layer of pavement over the affected areas to bring the roadway back to new condition.
Restoration of concrete sidewalks and curbing is scheduled for the end of October to mid-November.
Minor disruption to traffic should be anticipated during this construction activity. Traffic control personnel will continue to be on-site to assist with traffic movement. Minor delays should be anticipated.
We thank residents for their patience during this major project.
