Nika & Madison is a drama about two Indigenous friends, Nika and Madison, who go on the run after a violent encounter with a police officer leaves him injured. Fearing prejudice and disbelief from the justice system, the childhood friends are forced to flee, forging a strong bond of sisterhood amidst their flight through the Canadian wilderness. The film explores themes of Indigenous resilience, the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and systemic biases against Indigenous people in the Canadian legal system. Anchored by two remarkable lead performances from Ellyn Jade and Star Slade, Nika & Madison is a timely, unflinching, and deeply human story.
