Call for Artists, Community Banner Program
Submission Deadline: 4:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026
The District of Central Saanich is offering an exciting opportunity for area artists to create vibrant public art banner designs that will welcome residents and visitors to Central Saanich for two locations
- West Saanich Road in Brentwood Bay/ W̱JOȽEȽP
- Keating Cross Road in the Keating Business District.
The purpose of the Community Banner Program is beautification and community identity promotion. Community banners will add vibrancy and community spirit.
Theme: Celebration of what makes Central Saanich special.
Eligibility: Open to Central Saanich and W̱SÁNEĆ artists, with a focus on emerging artists.
Application: Interested participants are required to complete the following:
- Complete the entry form below OR
- Submit a completed application with two panel designs to communications@csaanich.ca or drop off at Municipal Hall.
Artists should note if their design is for a specific location (Keating or Brentwood) and can submit for one or both locations. Each submission should include a complimentary pair of designs (two banners that will hang side by side on a post). For technical information, please see the Banner Design Guide.

Timeline: The designs (more than one will be selected) will be installed in spring 2026 and will remain for 1-2 years weather permitting.
