District Projects - Current
|Saanich Cross Road
Start date: December 2023
|Brentwood Bay Sewer System
Start date: February 2024
This project includes improvements to the Wallace Drive bike lane (from West Saanich to Stelly’s Cross Road) – the most requested project by the community and will provide a needed bike route from Brentwood to Saanichton.
|Mt Newton Pathway
Phase 1: The Multi-use path between the Pat Bay Highway and Lochside Drive has been designed and submitted for grant funding through the BC Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant program. Construction for the project is currently set for 2024.
Phase 2: The Multi-use path between East Saanich Road and the Pat Bay Highway is in development of concepts stage with the project partners. Design will be completed in 2024 with construction the following year.
|Central Saanich Pathway
Central Saanich Pathway is in development of concepts stage with the project partners. Design will be completed in 2024 with construction aligned with the replacement of a Regional water system on Central Saanich Road in 2025-26.

Highway 17 Keating Cross Overpass Project
Start Date: June 2023
The Highway 17 Keating Cross Road “Flyover” Overpass Project will allow vehicles to travel this busy corridor more safely and efficiently, helping keep local businesses competitive and promote regional economic growth.
The project involves a new flyover overpass from the Patricia Bay Highway (Highway 17) northbound to Keating Cross Road westbound, eliminating the left turn across highway traffic onto Keating Cross Road. The project will also include a realigned southbound on-ramp to Victoria.
