Infrastructure Planning

With aging infrastructure requiring replacement, provincial housing targets, and the community’s desire for new amenities, the District is taking a strategic approach to infrastructure management. This approach ensures reliable services today and into the future, while carefully planning so residents are not burdened by sudden tax increases. By setting aside sufficient funding for planned investments, we can maintain stability and support growth in a sustainable way.

Municipal infrastructure refers to road networks, water and sewer systems and facilities. While municipalities do not build schools or hospitals, we work with the CRD and other partners on a Regional Growth Strategy ensure hospitals, schools, and other public services can accommodate population growth.
