FREE Workshop - FireSmart Your Garden

    Learn all about resilient gardening!

    Join your Central Saanich neighbours for a free weekend workshop exploring beautiful, drought-resilient landscaping to protect your home from wildfires. You’ll get practical tips from three speakers: 

    1. Bethany Couture, an expert horticulturalist at Garden Alchemist, will share tips about resilient garden design, the best choices for plants, mulches and groundcovers, and water and soil conservation that mimic nature’s strategies.
    2. Ryan Vantreight, the District's FireSmart Coordinator, will share proactive steps to take in your yard to reduce loss from wildfires.
    3. Conan O'Dell, the District's Arborist, will talk about all things trees, including tree limbing tips and tree cutting bylaws.
