Campfire ban lifted August 28 at 12:00 p.m.

The Category 1 campfire prohibition will be lifted in all regions of the Coastal Fire Centre area beginning 12:00 noon Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Category 2 and Category 3 open fires remain prohibited, including the use of fireworks, sky lanterns, binary exploding targets, burn barrels, burn cages and air curtain burners. These restrictions will remain in place until October 31, 2024, or until the Order is rescinded.

Effective on Friday, July 12, 2024 at noon Pacific Daylight Time, campfires will be prohibited throughout the Province of British Columbia. This includes all recreational fires in Central Saanich. This prohibition is being enacted to help prevent human caused wildfires and protect public safety. Certified propane fire pits are permitted.
