The District of Central Saanich has once again received a Canadian Award for Financial Reporting. The award is granted by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the District's 2019 Annual Report.
The annual report has been judged by impartial Canadian Review Committee members to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” designed to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. Judges assessed how well the District’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications tool.
This award represents the District's ongoing efforts each year to publish reports that communicate the municipal government’s financial picture, and provide the public with clear and detailed information.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit professional association; the association's Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
The District of Central Saanich expects to publish it's 2020 Annual Report in June.
