Businesses

If you are a cool facility the public can come to for cooling off, please inform us of your hours and location and resources available by emailing Emergency Program Manager Lisa Banfield at Lisa.Banfield@csaanich.ca.

Checking on vulnerable populations

Some people are more at risk of heat related illness and death, and we encourage residents to check in with these populations during this time of warm temperatures.  Pre-existing medical conditions, certain medications, substance use disorders, social isolation, age, and pregnancy are all risk factors related to heat illness and death.  Please see centralsaanich.ca/extreme-heat for symptoms of heat stroke and resources.
