Get ready to roll to Peninsula Celebration Stations for GoByBike Week 2025

Celebrate with free food, drinks, prizes and fun at two Celebration Stations on the Peninsula

Get outside for a short spin or a long ride to one of 14 Celebration Stations popping up for GoByBike Week, including two right here on the Peninsula.

Everyone is welcome to stop by Central Saanich's Celebration Station on Sunday, June 1 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on the Lochside Regional Trail at Mount Newton Cross Road, and Sidney's Celebration Station on Thursday, June 5 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Beacon Avenue at Fifth Street. It's a chance to grab free snacks and drinks, chat with other riders, learn something new, join the fun and win great prizes.

GoByBike Week takes place from Saturday, May 31, to Friday, June 6, 2025, across the province. Locally, this free event is run by Capital Bike in partnership with Greater Victoria communities.

“We are proud to sponsor this year's Celebration Station beside the brand-new multi-use pathway on Mount Newton Cross Road," said Central Saanich Mayor Ryan Windsor. "Hopefully this local stop encourages Peninsula riders of all ages to take part in this fun event, whether you cycle all the time or are thinking about getting back on your bike.”

Join thousands of people hopping on a bike at least once next week to get to work or school, do an errand, go around the block, or ride down a trail. Anyone can register and log rides for the chance to win great prizes, including a Canadian-made Devinci bike or a Pedego e-bike.

This year's Grand Prize is a cycling adventure in Vietnam! To enter this draw, collect stamps from four Celebration Stations, log those four (or more!) rides, make sure to complete an Exodus Travel form, and drop off the stamped passport at any Celebration Station. The last Celebration Station closes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, and is on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail at Harbour Road.

Last year, more than 50,000 British Columbians logged nearly 2.5 million kilometres during GoByBike Weeks. If we had driven that distance instead, it would have added 539,683 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions to our atmosphere. That's roughly the equivalent of 126 gas-powered cars, driven for an entire year. Every ride next week (and every week) counts!

Looking for other fun opportunities to get on a bike? Central Saanich residents are invited to a series of free community rides to explore new routes and connect with other locals. Join an E-Bike Ride at 10:00 a.m. on June 14, with a stop at the Peninsula Country Market, and a Nature Ride at 12:00 p.m. on June 22, with a stop at a local coffee shop.
