Volunteers keep our community connected and make it the best it can be. We are lucky to have so many local groups working to help people, provide enriching activities for residents, share our heritage, and much more, and you never know how far your impact reaches!
Local volunteer groups are always looking to recruit more volunteers. From planning fun community events to assisting hospital patients and their families, coaching, assisting seniors, running heritage sites, farming, and even providing rides to people in our community seeking medical treatment. If you are able to contribute some time, there is likely a local group that would love to have your skills.
A few organizations are listed on the District’s Volunteer page and you can find others at http://www.peninsulavolunteers.ca/.
“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
~Elizabeth Andrew“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
~Winston Churchill
On behalf of the community, thank you for your past or present volunteer work!
