Do you run a local business or non-profit organization and want to add a public charging station to the property? Central Saanich's new Business Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Grant offers up to 50 per cent of the overall cost of a Level 2 charging station (to a maximum of $5,000 rebate per station).
Businesses in the communities of Central Saanich, Tsartlip and Tsawout First Nations, as well as not-for-profit organizations that provide a public service within the District of Central Saanich can apply until December 31, 2022, by visiting centralsaanich.ca/EVchargergrant. The program will reopen for a second round of applications in 2023.
With gas prices surging and more electric vehicles on the road, drivers are increasingly seeking convenient chargers. Through the Business EV Charger Grant program, the District of Central Saanich will publicize the location of businesses with charging stations.
Participants are encouraged to combine this grant with other rebates that may be available. Participating businesses may also choose to charge drivers for the time they spend hooked up to the charger.
