Applications open for the Victoria Airport Authority Board of Directors

The District of Central Saanich is accepting applications for nominees to the Victoria Airport Authority Board of Directors. The length of term for the new appointee to the Board is for up to a three-year term ending December 31, 2027.
Applicants are invited to provide a cover letter, a detailed resume, and a completed Council Appointment Application Form. Applicants should demonstrate that they meet the qualification criteria as set by the Victoria Airport Authority under their bylaw. All Board of Directors receive annual remuneration based on their role and a per diem for attendance at Committee and Board meetings. 

 The ideal candidate will possess:

  • knowledge, experience, and expertise at a senior executive level in Board policy governance and strategic planning;

  • Business management and operation experience;

  • Corporate finance, including an MBA and experience in capital financing for large projects;

  • Professional disciplines in planning and land development; real estate management and knowledge of real estate ownership models; digital technology; senior legal counsel knowledge about land/project development; or engineering experience; or

  • Air transportation and aviation experience. 

Further, applicants may be disqualified if they:

  1. Are not a Canadian citizen;

  2. Are not a resident of the Capital Regional District;

  3. Hold federal, provincial, or municipal elected office;

  4. Are a full-time employee or contractor to any federal, provincial, or municipal government, department, or agency, or any corporation owned by the Government of Canada or Province of BC;

  5. Have been convicted of a criminal offence; and

  6. Do not meet the conflict of interest or other requirements.
