The District of Central Saanich is calling on local artists to help bring vibrancy and community spirit to our streets through the Community Banner Program. This initiative aims to beautify public spaces and celebrate what makes Central Saanich special.
Artists from Central Saanich and the W̱SÁNEĆ community—particularly emerging artists—are invited to submit original designs for banners that will be displayed in two key locations:
- Keating Cross Road in the Keating Business District
- West Saanich Road in Brentwood Bay
Each submission should include a complimentary pair of designs (two banners that will hang side by side on a post). Selected designs will be installed in spring 2026 and remain in place for 1–2 years, weather permitting. For technical information please see the Banner Design Guide.
Honouraria:
An honourarium of $1,000 per location will be awarded to the artist(s) whose designs are chosen. Collaborative submissions are welcome, with the honourarium split between artists.

How to Apply:
Artists must:
- Complete the entry form
- Submit two complimentary panel designs with descriptions
Designs should indicate the intended location (Keating or Brentwood) and may be submitted for one or both locations.
Deadline:
All submissions must be received by 4:00 PM PST on Monday, January 12, 2026.
