Summer at Centennial Park just got cooler

Updated

The District of Central Saanich officially opened the brand-new splash pad at Centennial Park, on Sunday, May 25, 2025 - coinciding with National Accessibility Week. The splash pad features exciting water elements, including a thrilling dumping bucket and spray features activated by a convenient push-button. Designed with inclusivity in mind, the splash pad is fully wheelchair accessible and welcoming to children of all ages and abilities.

Perfectly located at the popular Centennial playground, this new amenity enhances the park’s appeal as a go-to destination for families looking to play and cool off all summer long. The new addition is part of the District's ongoing efforts to enhance recreational facilities and provide high-quality amenities for residents and visitors.

The $250,000 splash pad was made possible in part by a generous $50,000 donation from the Central Saanich Lions Club, formally presented to the District during the opening celebration. We extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Lions for their ongoing support of our community.

We also want to recognize and thank Panorama Recreation for helping make the celebration extra special with their inflatable obstacle course, fun games and for bringing along their beloved mascot, Slider.

The community came out in full force to mark the occasion, enjoying a fun-filled day complete with an ice cream station, and a free family-friendly bike ride to the park, encouraging active transportation.
