Located between the Central Saanich Seniors’ Centre and Wallace Drive, this park is dedicated in honour of Rom Knott, resident of Brentwood Bay, avid sportsman and coach, who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident in 1964. As a tribute to Rom, his friends and family purchased this land for use as a sportsfield for local youth. In time, the land was donated to the District as a municipal park.
The park now includes a softball diamond, concession/storage building, open green space, tot lot (suitable for children under 5 years) and a second children’s play area, named in memory of Stan Bickford.
Rom Knott Park is an important part of the Brentwood Bay village and together with nearby HEL,HILEȻ Park and the grounds of the Central Saanich Cultural Centre, is the site of many community events held between April – September each year.
