Graham Creek Debris Removal

Over the past few weeks we have been removing debris that were reducing the flows in Graham Creek and causing problems from a stormwater conveyance perspective.

While working in Graham Creek, we deployed hay bales to prevent any sediment from discharging downstream. The work was completed earlier this week and the hay bales were removed October 6 to allow the stagnant water to slowly discharge into Graham Creek.

As the stagnant water in Graham Creek began to flow, a strong odour could be detected. This was not a concern from an environmental perspective, but it may have been noticed near Stelly’s X Road, or in Centennial Park for a short time.

The creek is now flowing freely again and we are pleased with the results of the work.
