Council Procedures Bylaw Amendment
This is to notify you that Council will consider adoption of the Council Procedure Bylaw Amendment No. 2258, 2026, Amendment Bylaw No. 2 at its Regular Council Meeting.
Council is considering updates to the Council Procedures Bylaw to improve clarity, efficiency, and consistency in how meetings are conducted.
In general terms, the proposed amendments would:
- Modernize meeting procedures, including updates to scheduling, notices, and agenda preparation.
- Clarify roles, expectations, and processes for public participation, delegations, and hearings.
- Introduce improvements to meeting structure, including adjustments to the order of business and the addition of tools to streamline routine items.
- Support electronic participation, with clearer guidelines for remote attendance and voting.
- Update and refine language and definitions to improve readability and reflect current legislation and practices.
A copy of the proposed bylaw may be viewed at the Municipal Hall during regular business hours or view here.
HOW TO PROVIDE INPUT
Written enquiries and comments submitted by mail or email received by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting, will be included in the revised meeting agenda. All correspondence submitted will form part of the
public record and may be published on a meeting agenda. Comments may be submitted by the following:- Email comments to municipal.hall@csaanich.ca

Additionally, you may:
