NOTICE OF PROPOSED ROAD CLOSURE – PORTION OF HOVEY ROAD WHERE IT CROSSES THE TSARTLIP FIRST NATION.
Monday, July 28, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., Council Chambers at Central Saanich Municipal Hall

This is to notify that Council will be considering a Road Closure Bylaw to close and remove the dedication as highway of a portion of Hovey Road, where it crosses the Tsartlip First Nation Property and dispose of the land. The Districts understanding is that this portion of Hovey Rd. was incorrectly gazette in 1883 and District is prepared to surrender any rights conferred upon the municipality and call upon the Provincial government to recognize the unimproved portion of Hovey Road as part of the Tsartlip First Nation.
AND FURTHERMORE, TAKE NOTICE Bylaw No. 2238, 2025 may be inspected, and other information related to this bylaw, may be reviewed until July 28, 2025, excluding weekends and statutory holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Municipal Hall, 1903 Mount Newton Cross Road.
