The District of Central Saanich would like to inform the public that the floating dock at the James Island Road Wharf will be temporarily removed on October 27, 2025, in advance of the winter storm season.
This decision follows a recent maintenance assessment that identified deterioration in the locating piles securing the float. To ensure public safety and prevent damage from winter wave action, the float will be removed as a precautionary measure.
The float is expected to be reinstalled in Spring 2026, consistent with seasonal operations at other local docks such as Sidney Island and Tulista Park.
