Election 2026: Your Community, Your Vote
Each local government in BC is responsible for conducting its own general local elections every four years. The District of Central Saanich also administers the School Trustee election on behalf of School District No. 63.
The 2026 municipal election will be held on October 17, 2026.
You will be able to cast a vote for a 4-year office term (2026-2030) for:
• MAYOR (1 to be elected)
• COUNCILLOR (6 to be elected)
• SCHOOL TRUSTEE (2 to be elected) for School District No. 63
Key dates
- Nomination packages and candidate information session: available/held in July 2026 (details to come)
- Candidate nomination period: September 1–11, 2026
- Declaration of Candidates: September 11, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
- Deadline to withdrawal of candidates: September 18, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
- Start of Campaign Period: September 19, 2026
- Advance voting: October 7 and October 14, 2026
- Election Day: Saturday, October 17, 2026
- Declaration of Official Election Results: October 21, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
- Inaugural Council Meeting: November 2, 2026
- Campaign Financial Disclosure Statement filing deadline: January 15, 2027
