Due to dry weather conditions and extreme fire risk, open burning is suspended in Central Saanich until further notice. Open burning can usually begin (with a permit) in Central Saanich on October 15.
The extreme fire risk could also mean that fireworks and bonfires will not be permitted on October 31. We are hopeful that conditions may change as we approach Halloween.
