April 9, 2018

The 100-year-old Newman Farm was donated to the District Central Saanich by John and Henry Newman in 2003. The Farmlands Trust Society has been gradually returning the Saanichton farm to active agricultural uses.

The Newman Farm case study is now part of the official Teaching Guide for the textbook, Food, Farms, and Community: Exploring Food Systems. Visit farmlandstrust.org or email farmlandstrust@gmail.com to learn about volunteering at and donating to the farm.
