Tanner Road Water Main Replacement

Last Updated: September 15, 2025
Project Status: Preliminary Design

Our water main is getting an upgrade.

This work aims to replace critical infrastructure and help address road safety.

To be cost-effective, we look to integrate underground infrastructure upgrades with aboveground improvements where possible.

What's happening?

After the Province's Keating Cross Overpass Project is complete, the District will replace a section of aging water main and make some modest improvements to Tanner Road to better serve the community now and in the future.

Why now?

The existing water main is being replaced due to its age and to improve reliability, water quality and fire flow demand in the area.

Anticipated timeline

  • In spring 2025, preliminary design on this project began. This allows us to see what is possible within space and budget constraints.
  • In fall 2025, the District aims to share a design concept with Council. After that, we anticipate holding a project information session for Tanner Ridge residents.
  • In 2026 or 2027, construction is expected to begin once the design is finalized, project budget is confirmed and the Province's Keating Cross Overpass Project is complete.

Do you walk, roll, ride, drive or take the bus in Tanner Ridge?

We anticipate holding a project information session after Council has reviewed the design concept, potentially in early 2026. Please note this session was rescheduled (it was originally shared in the May 2025 Community Focus newsletter).
